About us
Established in 2006 on a family farm in the heart of the stunning Somerset levels, Granny Gothards have been proudly making artisan ice cream and sorbet for over 15 years and have an outstanding reputation as purveyors of luxury ice cream and sorbet both in the UK and internationally.
Whilst we have grown from the early days of producing six flavours in the back of the milking parlour to now producing over 195 flavours for top chefs and high-end restaurants all over the world.
Based just over the border in glorious Devon, we still make every single batch by hand to the same exceptional standard as the very first day!

What makes our ice creams taste so scrumptious?
Simple! We only start with the best, use nothing artificial and believe that Mother Nature provides the finest ingredients herself!
Our milk comes into the parlour daily from the first milking from Matt’s four-legged girls at Oak Park Dairy (a blend of Jersey and Friesian breeds so deliciously high butterfat), then lashings of thick double cream from the beautiful West Country dairy Gundenhams.
We create a crème anglaise by hand blending with egg yolks and adding our secret blend of sugars for our Ice creams; a little water and sugar for our sorbet; plenty of fresh, natural flavours, a lot of passion and the Granny Gothard’s "Savoir Faire".
When it comes to adding the tasty bits, there are plenty of good folks around us with amazing local products so when the season is right, all those fresh beauties go straight into our pots. We only use real ingredients, including original liqueurs and spirits, fresh fruits, brand-name confectionary and fresh botanicals.
